Martin Emslie Awarded FLCM for Omega & Alpha

The letters stand for the 'Fellowship of the London College of Music'.

Every major professional institution has three grades of membership. Associate, Member and Fellow. Associate Membership can be gained if you are occupied in the profession, Membership can be awarded if you are professionally trained in the profession and Fellowship is awarded to those who have reached the highest level of the profession.

In the musical academic fraternity it is a similar structure. Fellowship is reserved for a very small number of musicians and is highly prized and very rarely awarded. In the field of composition, it is only awarded for work that is considered to be of the highest quality and of national or international importance. Omega & Alpha was deemed to be of this quality and as a consequence Martin was awarded the FLCM.
